That's exactly the spirit that drives the Union of Black Episcopalians Arizona Chapter every day, as we stand against systemic racism, advocate for the African diaspora, and build the Beloved Community right here in Arizona.
This summer, we're inviting you to pull up a chair.
What is the Folding Chair Fundraiser?
The Folding Chair Fundraiser is our summer campaign to support the programs, outreach, and advocacy work that make UBE Arizona possible — from our community service partnerships with Family Promise and St. Mary’s Food Bank, to our speaker series, spiritual fellowship gatherings, and educational events that celebrate the history and gifts of Black Episcopalians.
When you make a gift, you're claiming your seat at the table — the table where beloved community is built, where Black voices are centered and celebrated, and where faith becomes action.
🪑 Please note: Your donation purchases a virtual "seat at the table", and is symbolic in the spirit of this fundraiser. This is not a ticket to a physical event, and no actual chair or seating will be provided.
Here’s How It Works
1. Make your gift. Choose any amount below to pull up your folding chair. Every dollar supports UBE Arizona's mission to advocate, educate, and serve.
2. Watch your chair appear. After your donation is confirmed, you'll see your folding chair take its place at the table — because every seat matters, and yours has been saved.
3. Share a recipe (optional but encouraged!). Our table isn't complete without good food. After donating, you'll have the opportunity to submit a favorite recipe to be included in the UBE Arizona Folding Chair Community Cookbook — a celebration of the cultures, families, and traditions represented at our table.
4. Receive the cookbook. Once the fundraiser closes, every donor will receive a digital copy of the cookbook, filled with recipes from supporters just like you — a keepsake that captures the spirit of community this campaign is all about.
